Concord – Recognizing a need for employment opportunities for all of New Hampshire’s citizens, New Hampshire Employment Security (NHES) will be hosting multiple Job Fairs in September. In light of the recent lay-offs with Stop & Shop and Shaw’s, NHES has also reached out to numerous hiring employers in the retail industry.
"Our job fairs are critical components of our efforts to build a stronger, more innovative economic future, helping to connect New Hampshire’s talented workers with employers who are looking to hire," Governor Maggie Hassan said. "With recent store closings in the state, these events are even more important as we work to find new employment opportunities for affected workers. I thank New Hampshire Employment Security and all of the participating employers for supporting hard-working Granite Staters."
The Job Fair schedule is as follows:
"New Hampshire Employment Security is pleased to sponsor these Job Fairs. This is an excellent opportunity to help the people of New Hampshire find new job opportunities and strengthen their résumés," NHES Commissioner George Copadis said. "I encourage all those seeking new employment, better employment, or a stronger résumé to attend these Job Fairs."
At the Job Fairs, job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with many local companies, as well as to network, obtain career information and gain experience talking to employers. Local companies will also be pre-screening candidates on the spot, as well as taking résumés and applications.
NHES provides free services, resources, and tools to assist both job seekers and employers with the entire job-search process, from hiring to employment needs. NHES has services available online and onsite to assist job seekers including an automated Job Match System, internet access, local papers, employment counseling and career assessments, as well as workshops on job searching, résumé writing and interviewing techniques.
